Optical system
The optical construction centers on a triple-element apochromatic objective comprising two ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lenses and one Fluoride HD lens. This combination effectively eliminates chromatic aberration — the color fringing that degrades image quality at high magnification — and delivers razor-sharp detail with high contrast across the entire field of view. The result is true-to-life color rendition and exceptional resolution, even in low-light and diminishing-light conditions. The 85mm objective aperture gathers substantial light, making the scope effective during dawn and dusk — precisely the hours when wildlife activity peaks. All lenses feature advanced FMC (Fully Multi-Coated) coatings that maximize light transmission, minimize glare, and repel water, dirt and fingerprints.
Magnification and focusing
The scope offers a variable magnification range of 30–60x, providing the flexibility to scan wide areas at lower power and close in on fine detail at the upper end of the range. The centrally positioned focus wheel is designed with deliberate resistance, allowing precise adjustments even when wearing heavy winter gloves — a practical consideration in sub-zero Nordic conditions where temperatures can drop below −30°C.
Construction and durability
The body is constructed from an aluminium-magnesium alloy, which combines structural rigidity with low weight. It is covered in a robust rubber armour that protects against impact and provides a secure grip in wet or cold conditions. The angled eyepiece design lowers the effective mounting height on a tripod, improving stability and reducing fatigue during extended observation sessions.
The scope is fully waterproof and nitrogen-purged, preventing internal fogging and condensation regardless of temperature fluctuations or precipitation. The twist-up eyecup accommodates use both with and without eyeglasses.
Compatibility and accessories
The tripod collar is Arca-Swiss compatible, ensuring direct mounting to most modern ball heads and quick-release systems without additional adapters. The scope is supplied with a protective neoprene stay-on case and a cleaning cloth.
